PHARMACIST - CARDIOLOGY
This position is a full-time internal medicine clinical pharmacist at a level 1 trauma and academic medical center with a focus in cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.
This is a rotating position with primary service hours on day shifts and including some weekends.
Our cardiology pharmacists collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team team in a service-based model and attend daily academic rounds on wards to actively manage pharmacotherapy for patients on the cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, and orthopedic surgery services (subject to change based on department needs).
Management and development of clinical practice documents, involvement in committees that support the Advanced Heart Failure and other cardiology-specific certifications awarded to University of New Mexico Hospitals (UNMH) are expectations as routine tasks of this position.

As such, precepting is also an expectation.
Precepting experiences include our robust post graduate year (PGY) 1 pharmacy residency program and the opportunity to serve as preceptor for the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy (UNM COP) for Introductory and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences.
Preferred qualifications include completion of an ASHP accredited Cardiology PGY 2 residency program, Cardiology BPS board certification (BCCP), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Summary:
